Turkmenistan: PonteSud – News Desk

Turkmen tennis players will take part in the Central Asian Team Championship among children under 12 years old, which will be held from June 16 to 21 in Fergana, Uzbekistan, with the participation of representatives from five countries.

The winning teams will receive tickets to the final stage of the Asian Championship, the online newspaper “Golden Age” reported.

The women’s team of Turkmenistan at the tournament will be represented by Nazli Hudaikuliyeva, Sahra Garahanova and Sulgun Ishankulieva under the leadership of head coach Yuri Rogussky.

The men’s team consists of Yunus Annamuradov, Egenmammed Nuryagdyev and Erkin Altiyev, led by Mirali Gasanov.

A similar tournament was held in Ashgabat in 2022 with the participation of teams from six countries in the region, including Afghanistan.

The competition was held at the Tennis Complex of the Olympic Village in the capital of Turkmenistan, which, by decision of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF), received the status of “Training Center of the Asian Region”.

The ATF management highly appreciated the organization of the tournament, calling it exemplary.

The corresponding certificate was presented to the complex on June 1, 2024, by the representative of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) for the development of tennis in Asia, Seyedamir Borghei.

According to ATF Vice President Eziz Dovletov, from August 4 to 15, 2025, a regional coaching seminar of Level 2 for national specialists with Level 1 qualification, as well as coaches from other Asian countries, will be held in the Ashgabat center with the support of the ITF.
