Cairo: Ponte Sud – News Desk
Amid growing global outrage over the ongoing crisis in Gaza, Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has affirmed its respect for the increasing international engagement with the situation. The ministry reiterated Egypt’s relentless efforts to end the aggression and achieve a ceasefire. This comes at a time when human rights groups from Europe and the Maghreb region are intensifying calls for international marches to reach Egypt and then proceed to the Gaza border, demonstrating solidarity with the Palestinian people and rejecting Israel’s blockade.

Several non-governmental human rights organizations, particularly from France, Spain, and Italy, alongside Maghreb countries such as Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco, have sought to organize international delegations marching toward Egypt to pressure for an end to Palestinian suffering in Gaza. These initiatives are part of a broader global movement urging the international community to take more decisive action against Israeli violations and ensure the immediate and unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid.

In this context, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry emphasized the necessity of adhering to legal and regulatory procedures, stating that all visit requests must be submitted officially through accredited diplomatic channels to ensure proper security coordination. Egypt highlighted that it has previously facilitated visits for various governmental and rights-based delegations but will not consider requests submitted outside the established framework.

As Egypt continues its determined diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation and secure the delivery of humanitarian aid, it stresses the importance of prior coordination with Egyptian authorities for any solidarity-related activities to ensure the safety of visiting delegations and compliance with Egyptian entry regulations. Egypt remains steadfast in its support for the Palestinian cause, advocating serious international action to end the aggression and lift the blockade imposed on Gaza.
