Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency strengthens science and technology cooperation with Malaysia to support the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. The partnership focuses on developing skilled human capital and fostering innovation to build a dynamic and people-centred regional community.
Mardyanto Wahyu Tryatmoko, Head of the agency’s Centre for Government Research, highlighted the shared priorities of both nations in advancing science and technology within a collaborative framework.
He called for deeper economic integration, enhanced technological adoption, and the full use of the creative economy’s potential to ensure ASEAN remains competitive in the global landscape.
Science and technology, he noted, are key drivers for strategic collaboration, particularly in cultivating a competent, future-ready workforce. He also drew a connection between the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and Indonesia’s own Golden Vision 2045, which marks the centenary of the country’s independence and outlines a strategic roadmap for national development.
According to the source, the Indonesia–Malaysia partnership is expected to enhance educational quality, strengthen research and development capacities, promote collaboration between academia and industry, and expand digital literacy and technology awareness.
