Three dead, several injured in Israel since Iranian missiles rained down on Tel Aviv through Friday night as Iran launched its retaliatory strikes on Israel. Iran launched another barrage of missiles at Israeli territory on Saturday, killing two, and injuring 19 others.
The barrage began after a televised address from Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who said: “The armed forces of the Islamic republic will inflict heavy blows upon this malevolent enemy.”
Two deputy commanders of Iran’s armed forces general staff were killed in Israeli strikes, Iranian state media reported on Saturday.
Though the exact timing of their deaths was not specified. Iran also confirmed “limited damage” to its Fordow nuclear facility, state run media agency reported, citing a spokesperson for the country’s atomic energy organisation.
An Iranian strike hit close to headquarters of the Israel Defense Forces and the Ministry of Defense in Kirya, Tel Aviv.
Two people died and 19 were also injured in central Israel during an Iranian missile barrage, according to the Magen David Adom emergency service.
