President Prabowo Subianto and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud (MBS) have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation to improve health facilities and Hajj services for Indonesian pilgrims.

“Both parties expressed their intention to strengthen cooperation in the health sector, especially in terms of health requirements for Hajj,” read the official joint statement of both countries on Wednesday (July 2).

In addition to focusing on Hajj services, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia also agreed to support broader investments in the health sector.

Their collaboration will also cover the pharmaceutical industry, vaccine production, human resource development, and health technology, all aimed at improving services for and meeting the needs of Hajj pilgrims.

During the bilateral meeting, President Prabowo also praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts in managing the Two Holy Mosques and serving pilgrims from around the world, including those from Indonesia.

President Prabowo expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome extended by King Salman and Crown Prince MBS, and formally invited the Crown Prince to make a reciprocal visit to Indonesia.

President Prabowo and Crown Prince MBS delivered a joint statement following their bilateral and one-on-one meeting at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah. The session was part of President Prabowo’s state visit to Saudi Arabia from July 1–3, 2025.

Beyond Hajj-related matters, the two leaders also discussed expanding cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, and energy. Both countries agreed to support each other’s national visions: Saudi Vision 2030 and Golden Indonesia 2045.

Furthermore, the two nations agreed to deepen cooperation in 10 priority areas: digital economy and innovation; legal systems and law enforcement; labor and human resources; culture; tourism; sports and youth; education and research; industry and mining; agriculture, fisheries, and food security; and air connectivity between the two countries.
