Moscow: PonteSud – News Desk

Tunisia’s 2025 grain harvest has delivered promising results, with approximately 575,100 tonnes collected by 22 June.

This marks a major increase compared to the same period in 2019, when around 329,300 tonnes were gathered. The 2019 season is considered a reliable comparison due to similar agricultural conditions.

Durum wheat makes up the largest share of the harvest, with around 350,900 tonnes collected. Barley follows at 195,700 tonnes, soft wheat at 26,900 tonnes, and triticale at 1,700 tonnes.

Grains intended for consumption account for 96.8 per cent of the total harvest. The Beja Governorate has contributed the most so far, collecting 126,000 tonnes, which represents 21.91 per cent of the national total.

Other major contributors include Siliana (12.19 per cent), Bizerte (12.06 per cent), and Jendouba (11.97 per cent).

According to the National Grain Board, this year’s successful harvest reflects favourable weather and growing conditions, suggesting a strong outlook for Tunisia’s agricultural sector.
